| The infield is Kym's biggest improvement over the last few months and is a definate strength in his game. Kym shows well above actions in the middle infield. He is most natural and comfortable on the left side of the infield but could play the right side of the infield if needed. Kym has good feet and improvement to his first step quickness will increase his range if the right angle is chosen. Kym has good hands that are getting softer each week with consistent repetition. He does not have a glaring weakness with going to his right or left but does at times over throw when going to his back hand - leading to less carry on the baseball. Learning to trust is above average arm strength will solve this problem. Kym is able to throw from multiple angles but his arm works best from a 3/4 arm slot and keeping his fingers on top of the baseball. Overall, Kym is an above average high school defender with the potential to be an above average college defender with added strength and consistent repetitions. | ||

| Kym is really improving his offensive game and is growing into becoming a very good top of the order hitter. Kym has a solid set-up and load that is quite with very little extra movement. He is learning to stay inside the ball well and is now learning to drive the ball on a line to all fields - making him a very tough out for the high school level. His hand path is good that creates back spin on the baseball - giving him some right center power. Kym handles the bat well with the short game as well. He is a constant drag/push bunt threat and will attempt or show a bunt at least 1 time per game. At times he gets long with his stride leg when facing velocity creating a long swing - this will improve with additional at bats against top velocity. Kym is growing into a very solid college hitter with lots more potential with added strength. | |||
| Overall, Kym is a solid 8 on this scale with the ability to be a 9 with added strength and slight improvements to his offensive game. Kym is learning the work that needs to go into his game to be an everyday middle infielder at the college level. He is a solid student in the classroom and good worker off the field - he biggest weakness being the need to improve his overall strength and everything will improve. His running times are average but his running ability is well above average - he gets good jumps, reads balls well and is very aggressive on the bases. Overall, Kym will be a very good college player with lots of room for growth and improvement. |
